Egg-cellent Ideas!- DIY Home Décor for Easter

Want to make sure the Easter Bunny doesn’t pass by your house? Time to get crafty with these easy and adorable decorating ideas.

Easter Tree- Deck the halls, Easter style, with a small configuration of branches and twigs in a decorative planter. You can use florist’s foam to anchor the branches into the pot and then let your imagination run wild! Leave natural or spray paint white. Blown-out, decorated eggs, paper egg cutouts with jazzy ribbon or springy lace, even shellacked Peeps all work well for a cute centerpiece.

Framed Paper Bunnies- For an elegant yet whimsical touch, cut out some sweet bunny silhouettes and affix to scrapbook paper or wallpaper remnants, then frame in a 6X6 square window box. A chic way to welcome spring!

Crepe Paper Carrots- This fun decorative statement doubles as a secret hiding place for trinkets and candy! Wrap orange crepe paper around the goodies in a carrot shape, then attach some green crepe paper “leaves” at the end. A basket full of these charming carrots will warm everybunny’s heart!

Paper Ribbon Wreath- With a foam wreath form and some brightly colored scrapbook paper strips, you can create a family heirloom that will be hung on the front door for many an Easter. Follow this surprisingly simple tutorial to make this eye-catching spring decoration.

Peeps Wreath- An adorable way to display the iconic Easter candy that everybody loves (or, in some cases, loves to hate). Either way, you have to admit, those Peeps are pretty darn cute!

The Internet abounds with articles and blog posts full of excellent projects this time of year, and we have selected 5 of our favorites. Go grab some glitter glue and pipe cleaners- we’ll wait!

Looking for an innovative way to display all the beautiful holiday cards your friends and family members have sent you? Simply glue scraps of colorful gift wrap to one side of a clothespin, clip the paper-covered clothespins to a length of ribbon or festive garland and hang above a mantel or along a banister. When you receive new cards, clip them along the ribbon- what a fun and practical decoration!

Not particularly crafty? That’s OK, you can still get creative. Express your personal style by filling glass jars and vases with leftover Christmas balls and ornaments. A bare windowsill or tabletop will suddenly be filled with chic Christmas cheer!

Cookie Cutter Décor (Source: GoodHousekeeping.com)
Hanging whimsical Christmas cookie cutters in your kitchen area will make your home décor look anything BUT cookie-cutter! Hang them from a sign, as seen in the picture, or simply loop some ribbon through them and let them dangle from your overhead pot rack or wine rack. A simple touch that adds warmth and visual interest.

Sweet Treats (Source: LifeHack.org)

Keep it simple (and delicious) and fill glass vases, Mason jars and apothecary jars with beautiful Christmas candies. Mini candy canes, red-and-green gumdrops, candy ribbon, and even Hanukkah gelt can add a festive and yummy touch to any table or countertop.

Beautiful and Easy DIY Thanksgiving Decorations

This Thanksgiving, make sure your home is as warm and welcoming as the delicious feast you have prepared for your loved ones! We have scoured the Internet for the simplest yet most delightful ideas for making your home ready for the festive family gathering.
Thanksgiving Message Board
Cut out leaves from construction paper in fall colors, and have dinner guests write one thing they are thankful for on each leaf, then tack it to a cork or linen bulletin board. (Bonus points for framing the message board to make it more decorative.) Not only is this meaningful craft a nice breaker for extended family and other dinner guests, but it can also serve as a keepsake each year.
Festive Fall TablescapeSource: HGTV
Use an assortment of pillar candles, foam pumpkins, beans, peas and lentils to make a gorgeous table display that honors the humble beginnings of the very first Thanksgiving. Follow this tutorial to wrap adhesive around your candles and pumpkins and then roll the objects in the assorted legumes for a centerpiece that is as pleasing to the touch as it is to the eye.
Fall Hurricane VasesSource: Amanda Jane Brown
Love the look of the seeds and beans but don’t have the time or artistic ability to pull it off? Fear not- a beautiful glass hurricane vase filled with layers of dried peas, beans and corn in contrasting colors is a lovely and understated way to pay tribute to the bounty of the season. Tie with a piece of jute for a rustic touch.
Time to bust out those mini pumpkins and put them to good use at the dinner table! Attach a dinner guest’s name to each mini pumpkin with a pin, then place at the table. You can either hand-letter the little name cards, let one of your kids use their adorable handwriting to write the names, or print out the labels using your computer’s word-processing software. Not only will Aunt Shirley know where to sit, but the table will look adorable!
Apple CandlesSource: BuzzFeed
Hollow out the core of a medium to large apple and replace with a tealight candle for a quick, aromatic and unique fall decoration that will delight and impress everyone at your gathering.
